Core Responsibilities
Conduct face to face and/or online discussion sessions with newly-employed women and youth throughout the early period of employment.
Facilitate open and engaging conversations, creating a safe space for participants to share concerns, conflicts, and excitement about their new positions and career prospects, including potentially sensitive discussions around their families support for their jobs.
Establish a professional relationship with the participants, acting as a mentor and advisor.
Qualification
BA in social science, political science, business, international development, or related discipline, MA highly preferred.
At least ten years of experience working on social and youth development projects.
Strong interpersonal skills appropriate for operating effectively in a local community.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with participants in an empathetic manner, respond constructively to questions and concerns, and lead a productive dialogue.
Knowledge and experience in, and passion for promoting the advancement of youth development programs, including youth employability, education, civic participation, and leadership development.
Ability to perform in a high-energy environment, with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, including humility and the thoughtfulness to work effectively with others in a collaborative workspace.
Interest in gender and working with marginalized populations.
Must be willing to work in Aqaba, Ma’an-Petra, Jerash, Ajloun, and Zerqa throughout the project.
