Responsibilities

  • Engage with civil society formal and/or informal networks focused on women’s employment, women’s economic participation, and community mobilization as champions of women’s economic participation and equal work opportunity.
  • Establish trusting relationships with local community members, municipality, and private sector level along with stakeholders to understand their needs and community dynamics.
  • Design and deliver interventions aimed at building community support for women’s waged employment focused on individual and community champions.
  • In coordination with the MEL and CLA component, assist in periodic and ongoing tracking of community perceptions and attitudes toward proposed policies and initiatives that support women’s waged employment and economic participation.
  • Conduct community mapping and perform power analyses of key stakeholders to Identify community, government, and private sector champions.
  • Work with community champions and Social Mobilization Officers to establish new partnerships and conduct improvements to the work plan.
  • Design community engagement methods and communication materials targeting different audiences and identify local channels of communication with community members.
  • Work with WEELA’s government and communications components to design awareness and knowledge sessions for community members.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures.
  • Complete all reporting concerning their work.
  • Make sure that the program’s requirements and targets are met, in addition, to guaranteeing the quality of services provided and the number of beneficiaries reached.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences or other relevant areas.
  • At least four years of proven and successful track record within local community activities.
  • Strong experience in working with local and international partners, local/government authorities, and donor guidelines.
  • Highly developed writing skills; able to write policy, position or briefing papers, and reports, in English.
  • Skills in developing training and providing coaching for capacity building.
  • Experience with team management and technical support.
  • Positive personality, with a strong orientation toward solutions.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, constructive, and dynamic personality.
