Responsibilities
- Manage the complete accounting cycle, including General Ledger, fixed assets, accruals, and financial transactions across UAE and international entities.
- Oversee inventory accounting processes, including stock reconciliations, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and inventory variance reporting in coordination with the operations team.
- Perform and ensure accuracy of bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and petty cash controls across multiple locations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including financial analysis and variance reporting for management review.
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, corporate tax requirements, and applicable financial regulations across all operating jurisdictions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while promoting accuracy, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Senior Accountant role.
- Proven experience in the retail industry, with exposure to managing accounting operations across multiple locations (UAE and international markets).
- Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, and multi-currency financial reporting and consolidation.
- Experience with Zoho Accounting/Zoho Books is highly preferred; familiarity with other ERP and accounting systems is acceptable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or ACCA are highly preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
