Responsibilities
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for internal and external consumption.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Kotlin and JVM technologies.
- Participate in system architecture design and implementation of scalable microservices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with proper documentation and unit tests.
- Implement security and data protection best practices.
- Optimize performance of services including database access and network communication.
- Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues in production environments.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team ceremonies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on Kotlin (or strong experience in Java with recent Kotlin adoption).
- Proficient in building RESTful APIs and working with Spring Boot, Ktor, or similar frameworks.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with tools like Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of software engineering best practices including TDD and clean code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
