Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Apply patches, updates, and fixes to ensure database security and stability.
- Perform regular database tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and peak performance.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies, including data protection and disaster recovery requirements.
- Design and implement efficient backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss.
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Expertise in systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MongoDB.
- Knowledge of backup tools such as RMAN (Oracle), SQL Server Backup, or MySQLDump.
- Familiarity with tools for database optimization, like Explain Plans, Query Optimizers, and Indexing techniques.
- Ability to write scripts in languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python to automate database tasks.
