Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the technical strategy, system architecture, and engineering roadmap in alignment with the global product roadmap.
- Design and oversee scalable, multi-tenant, API-first, and event-driven platforms, while standardizing shared services and reusable components.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering teams by setting hiring standards, defining career paths, and promoting a culture of ownership, documentation, and quality.
- Ensure platform reliability and code quality through strong observability practices, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and leadership during incidents and root cause analyses.
- Enforce security and compliance standards, including privacy-by-design principles, role-based access control, encryption, and secure software development lifecycle practices.
- Manage engineering budgets effectively, optimizing cost, performance, capacity planning, and system resilience.
- Enhance developer experience and productivity through improved tooling, documentation, AI-assisted development, and performance metrics.
- Govern the use of AI and LLM tools across engineering workflows, including coding, reviews, testing, and documentation, while measuring impact and effectiveness.
- Establish and execute robust delivery frameworks, including design reviews, launch readiness checklists, architecture documentation, and post-launch reviews with documented outcomes and postmortems.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in SaaS, fintech, e-commerce, or large-scale digital platforms, including at least 2 years in a senior engineering management role.
- Native-level proficiency in Arabic and English, with strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale architectures, including microservices, APIs, SDKs, streaming systems, and strong tenant isolation models.
- Deep expertise in site reliability engineering and security practices, including SLOs, error budgets, observability, and secure SDLC methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and tooling, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, containerization and orchestration technologies, infrastructure as code, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated delivery discipline through structured documentation, outcome-driven roadmaps, and regular technical and business reviews.
- Proven experience in building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, and succession planning.
- Strong fluency in AI and LLM technologies, with experience governing their use to improve productivity and quality at scale.
