Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Support & Counseling:

    • Provide individual and group therapy to clients facing a variety of mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and life stressors.
    • Assess and diagnose mental health conditions, developing tailored treatment plans to meet the specific needs of each client.
  2. Program Development & Implementation:

    • Collaborate with other team members to design and implement mental health programs, workshops, and outreach activities that address community needs.
    • Ensure that mental health services are accessible, culturally competent, and tailored to the unique challenges of the community.
  3. Supervision & Mentorship:

    • Supervise and mentor junior staff, interns, or volunteers, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to support their growth.
    • Foster a collaborative, supportive environment that emphasizes clinical best practices, ethical guidelines, and self-care.
  4. Community Outreach & Advocacy:

    • Engage with local community groups and stakeholders to raise awareness of mental health services, ensuring access for marginalized populations.
    • Advocate for mental health initiatives, policy improvements, and resource allocation to support community well-being.
  5. Case Management & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with organizational and legal requirements.
    • Collaborate with other social services and healthcare providers to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  6. Training & Capacity Building:

    • Lead training sessions for staff and volunteers on mental health topics, enhancing the organization's overall capacity to serve the community.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends and research in mental health and community psychology.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience as a psychologist, with a significant portion of that time spent working in NGOs, community centers, or similar settings.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, community mental health, and social determinants of health.
  • Demonstrated experience in individual and group therapy, with proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Experience in supervising, mentoring, or training staff, students, or volunteers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with specific populations (e.g., refugees, children, at-risk youth, etc.) is a plus.
