Responsibilities
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints; design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Kotlin and JVM technologies.
- Contribute to system architecture design and implement scalable microservices to support growing product needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to turn product requirements into technical solutions; participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team ceremonies.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with documentation and unit tests; follow best practices in security and data protection.
- Optimize service performance, particularly in database access and network communication; monitor system health and troubleshoot production issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent, with 2–4 years of backend development experience — ideally in Kotlin, or Java with recent Kotlin adoption.
- Proficient in building RESTful APIs using frameworks like Spring Boot, Ktor, or similar JVM-based technologies.
- Strong grasp of object-oriented and functional programming principles; experienced with both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases.
- Familiar with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines; follows best practices like TDD, clean code, and maintainable architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
