Responsibilities:

  • Understand project requirements and the activities to be accomplished to complete the Project and the sequence of these activities.  
  • Understand the processes associated with the design, tendering, and construction of buildings and Infrastructure projects and have the ability to determine the responsibilities of the team members and the inputs required from each party to enable the timely completion of the Project.
  • Understand the project procurement requirements and the ability to track materials orders and deliveries.
  • Monitor the progress of design, procurement, and construction activities and ability to analyze the performance of the project parties, and address areas of concern accordingly.
  • Attend project meetings and understand the actions list and ability to track these actions
  • Conduct regular and continuous site visits to evaluate the progress against the plan and report any areas of concern.
  • Communicate with managers, supervisors, contractors, suppliers vendors, and other team members and compile information and data for project controls and reporting purposes.
  • Review and analyze design drawings and provide material and resource requirements.
  • Ensure all project activities are completed within the allocated time and that the progress is in alignment with the project requirements.
  • Prepare and issue reports, and develop presentations summarizing the project progress of work, status of design, procurement, and construction.
  • Establish, maintain, and update control logs to follow procurement status, design status, technical submissions, and approvals, these can form part of the project reporting system.
  • Maintain files, records, and documents related to the project planning controls and reporting procedures.
  • Develop and maintain projects’ master schedules.
  • Review design and construction schedules submitted by designers, and contractors’ projects.
  • Develop and maintain Project Progress Measurement System in line with Client requirements.
  • Establish and monitor project progress based on key milestones and preparation of actual vs planned reports.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and forecast project progress against an established baseline schedule.
  • Assess and notify the impact(s) of any changes and schedule slippages.
  • Provide timely schedule impact reviews and integrated project schedule updates.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure all project activities are completed in a timely manner, and identify and report any potential delays.
  • Prepare recovery schedules and/ or time impact analysis if needed.
  • Assist on Proposals, and tender bid documents by conducting financial and technical comparisons if requested.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering.
  • 6 - 8 years experience in planning, project controls, or construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent experience in the use of scheduling software including Primavera (P6)
  • Demonstrated experience in developing presentations, spreadsheets, and other supporting documents.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and report drafting skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Excellent English Language, specifically writing skills.
