Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the financial aspects of non-profit projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all project activities.
Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets.
Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts for projects, identifying potential variances and recommending corrective actions.
Manage the financial aspects of grants, including proposal budgets, grant compliance, and reporting.
Work closely with program managers to ensure that grant funds are utilised effectively and in accordance with grant agreements.
Ensure strict adherence to donor guidelines for accounting and reporting.
Evaluate and enhance financial procedures to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
Strengthen the control environment to mitigate financial risks and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Prepare comprehensive financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
Generate regular financial statements, variance analysis, and other reports as required.
Facilitate and support internal and external audits related to project finances.
Ensure that all financial documentation is readily available and in compliance with audit requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and ensure accurate reporting.
Communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
Stay informed about changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and grant requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing non-profit organisations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
Proven experience in project accounting within a non-profit environment.
Excellent proficiency in both English and Arabic languages (written and spoken).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Advanced skills in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
