Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by junior accounting staff.
- Prepare and review VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other applicable tax filings while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, including analyzing variances between actual and budgeted results.
- Maintain and oversee the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculations and schedules.
- Manage intercompany transactions and ensure accurate and timely reconciliations.
- Assess existing accounting processes and internal controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise, support, and provide guidance and training to junior accountants.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities, banks, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and support treasury-related activities as required.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to senior-level accounting responsibilities within project-based environments.
- Strong understanding and practical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 2, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16, where applicable.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, including system setup and configuration, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvements. Experience with Odoo is considered an advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, financial analysis, and data reconciliation.
- Strong experience in communicating and coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities.
