Deputy General Manager – Corporate Credit

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Corporate Credit Division, ensuring efficient and effective credit assessment, approval, and monitoring processes.
  • Develop and implement corporate credit strategies aligned with the Bank's business objectives and risk appetite.
  • Oversee the evaluation, structuring, and approval of corporate lending proposals, including large and complex credit facilities.
  • Monitor the quality and performance of the corporate credit portfolio, ensuring early identification and mitigation of credit risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations, internal credit policies, and corporate governance standards.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Banking, Risk Management, Legal, and Recovery teams to support sustainable business growth.
  • Present major credit recommendations to Executive Management and Board Credit Committees.
  • Drive continuous improvement of credit policies, processes, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing corporate credit teams while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or Credit Risk certifications are an advantage.
  • Minimum 20 years of progressive banking experience, with significant expertise in Corporate Credit and Corporate Banking.
  • At least 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles within Corporate Credit or Credit Risk Management.
  • Proven experience in structuring, evaluating, and approving large corporate and syndicated lending facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit structuring, risk assessment, collateral evaluation, and portfolio management.
  • Extensive experience working within a regulated banking environment.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
