Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Build and optimize data lakes and data warehouses to support analytics and business intelligence.
- Work with big data technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Hive, Trino, and Airflow.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, streams, files, and cloud storage.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all environments.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and DevOps engineers to deliver reliable data services.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
- Document data pipelines, schemas, and processes for maintainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with big data frameworks: Kafka, Spark, Hive, Hadoop, Trino.
- Knowledge of ETL tools and workflow schedulers: Airflow, NiFi, dbt.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
- Experience with data modeling and schema design for relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with object storage and cloud platforms: MinIO, S3, GCP, Azure, or private cloud.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices, Git, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience with machine learning pipelines: Kubeflow, MLflow is a plus.
- Exposure to business intelligence tools: Superset, Tableau, Power BI is a plus.
- Knowledge of data governance and security frameworks: Ranger, OPA is a plus.
- Familiarity with real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures is a plus.
- Experience with cloud data services: AWS Glue, GCP Dataflow, Azure Data Factory is a plus.
