Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development, implementation, and completion of multiple projects or programs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Develop project concepts, proposals, log frames, budgets, and timelines.
  • Identify, engage, and onboard partners; support partner assessments and capacity-building activities.
  • Coordinate with partners on activities, timelines, and project progress; provide guidance on implementation issues.
  • Monitor project budgets, manage deviations, and coordinate activity or budget adjustments.
  • Conduct monitoring visits and evaluations, document findings, and follow up on agreed actions.
  • Maintain project data in management systems, ensuring timely reporting, forecasting, and documentation.
  • Manage risk by identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements, including reporting and audits.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Line manage project staff and provide leadership, mentorship, and support as needed.
  • Represent the organization externally when delegated.
  • Travel nationally to projects or partner sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, International Development, or a related field.
  • At least 7–10 years of experience in project or program management within the NGO/INGO sector or equivalent.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methods (log frames, iPCM, monitoring tools).
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of thematic areas relevant to the organization’s mission is an advantage, but not required.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and forecasting financial and programmatic data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Leadership skills, including line management experience.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to develop effective solutions.
  • Budget management skills and financial accountability.
  • Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is highly valued.
