Responsibilities
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, and financial controls.
- Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS, including complex insurance contracts where applicable.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics (e.g., loss ratios, expense ratios, profitability), and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support internal and external audit processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Drive process improvements, leveraging financial systems (ERP, general ledger, IFRS software) to enhance reporting capabilities and efficiency.
- Support capital management initiatives, including cash management, liquidity planning, and financial modeling for new product development and business expansion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred).
- Professional certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CMA is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in the insurance sector is required, including hands-on knowledge of IFRS 17, actuarial data coordination, and insurance financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- High level of integrity, dependability, and results-oriented mindset.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
